Partial or Total Nail Avulsion Surgery

Nail Avulsion surgeries are the long-term solution to your annoying ingrown toenail. Ingrown toenails can be hereditary, caused by trauma or injury, fungal infection, or other issues.

In a Partial Nail Avulsion (or PNA), your Registered Chiropodist will:

  1. Freeze the problem toe with a local anesthetic,
  2. Remove the offending side of the nail,
  3. Apply a chemical so the problem won’t grow back,
  4. Then bandage it up.
  5. We send you home with simple at-home-care instructions and will have you return the next week so we can ensure proper healing.

In a Total Nail Avulsion (or TNA), your Chiropodist will repeat the above steps, except your practitioner will remove the entire nail.

Falknor’s Needling Procedure

Needling is an effective alternative treatment for those stubborn warts. By forcing the body’s immune system to recognize the virus, it creates a controlled inflammatory response, thereby helping the body get rid of the viral infections.

do you have stubborn warts?

This immune response is often systemic (affecting the entire body), so treating only one or a small cluster of verrucae is required. At the appointment, your Registered Chiropodist will:

  1. Freeze the area around the lesion,
  2. Repeatedly puncture the lesion to push the virus deeper into your foot,
  3. Clean the area,
  4. Then bandage it up.
  5. We will send you home with easy at-home-care instructions and will have you return the following week to ensure proper healing.

If you would like to learn more about this procedure, visit our Falknor’s Needling page on our website. You can schedule an appointment with Stephen Witiuk or Gregory Fulton to have this procedure performed.
