Total Contact Casting at Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre.

winnipeg health sciences centre logoVicki and Kaitlin Werkman recently had the opportunity to shadow health care professionals at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre in the Orthopedic and Infectious Disease Clinics.

The purpose of the trip was to gain additional understanding of the Total Contact Casting (TCC) system, application techniques and how TCC is used in relation to diabetic foot wounds and ulcers, and Charcot arthropathy.

Thank you to Infectious Disease Physician, Dr. John Embil, and Diabetic Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Mario Dascal and their supportive teams for their generous sharing of time and expertise.
