Family Update from Door to Door… (Home to Office)

It’s hard to believe that another year has flown by and we’re once again writing a family update. Not only has our immediate family flourished, our extended family has too. We’re so proud!

22232013012822Sarah graduated from Grade 10 this year and will continue working at McDonalds, which she loves, because she’s such a people person – and many of her friends either already work there or stop by for regular visits!

38232013012838Rachel is in decision-making mode. Will it be Brock or York for her B.Sc. Nursing? In the meantime, she’s working along side Dr. Martha Graham at a walk-in clinic to gain practical experience.

53232013012853Kaitlin has completed her second year of Podiatry studies at Queen Margaret University and will be back in our Oakville footcare clinic at the end of May to see patients for routine footcare, including nails, corns and calluses.

40232013012940Edith, Rick’s sister, will be covering for Vicki this summer on Monday’s and Friday’s. In her spare time, Edith loves visiting consignment shops searching for fantastic finds.

04232013013004Niece, Kim will continue working with us until she relocates to the Niagara Region later this summer. Kim recently completed the Hairstyling program at Niagara College.

And last but certainly not least…

10182012125210We are also delighted to announce that Nomita Kumar-Singh be re-joining the Werkman Chiropody team one day a week.

Nomita, husband Karun Singh and their 2 year old twin girls are returning to Canada from Boston, where Karun recently completed postdoctoral research in Li-Huei Tsai’s laboratory at the Picower Institute at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Nomita is a graduate of McMaster University, and has been a Registered Chiropodist since 2003. She studied wound care for an additional year under Dr. Gary Sibbald. During their four years in Boston, Nomita worked as an assistant to podiatric surgeons.

We welcome Nomita, Karun and the girls back to the Oakville/Burlington area and are pleased to be working with wonderfully friendly, exceptionally smart, Nomita once again.

From our family to yours, best wishes for a happy, healthy summer!
